Hello and welcome to the Trout Lake Community Centre!
The new light-filled complex with stunning views of John Hendry Park, Trout Lake and the North Shore Mountains boasts a community centre, an NHL-sized ice rink (which opened two years ago as a 2010 Games training venue for figure skating), a preschool and a state-of-the-art fitness centre.
It is jointly operated by the Vancouver Park Board and the Grandview Community Centre Association. Together, they offer more than 200 programs for all ages including art, dance, fitness, skating lessons, yoga, day camps, drop-in sports, indoor cycling, cooking classes, various martial arts and more.
Along with a great selection of programs the community centre is also home to a full-size gym, performing arts studio, youth and seniors’ room, pottery studio, art studio, multipurpose rooms and a training room.
In keeping with the Park Board’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, this gleaming 32,000-square-foot facility is built to high environmental standards, targeting LEED Gold certification and includes many features designed to conserve energy and water.
The building was designed by Walter Francl Architecture Inc.
