Winter Holiday Camps

The camp leaders will provide a variety of age appropriate activities designed to engage, educate and entertain the campers. Parents please fill out waiver forms before the first day of camp and kids please bring lunch, water, knapsack, and extra clothes for each day.

Ages: 6-8 yrs and 9-12 yrs

Christmas Ornaments (6-12 yrs)

Make and decorate beautiful ornaments for your Christmas tree. All supplies are included.
Program dates: Tuesday, December 5th from 3:45PM to 5:00PM. $12/1 session.


Gingerbread Houses (6-12 yrs)

Decorate gingerbread houses and snow and glitter ornaments for your Christmas tree. All supplies included. Drop in $18.00 if there is space. Click here for the event poster!
Program dates: Wednesdays, November 29th to December 13th. Program time is 3:45PM-5:00PM. $45/3 sessions.

Capoeira Camp

Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian Martial Art that combines self-defence, acrobatics, music and dance. Steadily gaining tremendous popularity around the world, this art form is an amazing and positive pastime for kids. Don’t miss this opporunity to immerse your child in a truly one of a kind martial arts experience.
During this camp, students will gain coordination and confidence by learning the fundamental movements. They will gain rhythm and self expression by learning the fundamentals of AfroBrazilian percussion and how to sing Capoeira songs. The class offers a safe, positive and highly active environment with other young aspiring Capoeiristas and the highly experiened and skilled instructors.

Chess for Kids

Come jump into the intricate world of Chess. Each session will be full of chess puzzles, supervised games and game analysis. This comprehensive and progressive program allows students to learn how to play chess in the optimal manner by gradually increasing complexity. Instructor: Maxim Doroshenko is an experienced professional chess player, FIDE Master, Rating FIDE 2331, CFC 2462. He holds Master Degree in Business from SFU. He finished first in the 2011 Paul Keres Memorial Chess Tournament held in Vancouver from May 20-23, cementing his position as British Columbia’s reigning chess champion, and one of the elite chess players in North America. The 36th annual chess tournament – hosted both in Vancouver, Canada at the River Rock Casino and in Tallinn, Estonia – drew 35 players in the open section.

Hip-Hop & Jazz 6-13 yrs

Combine the style of hip-hop with the technical dance skills of jazz! Learn steps, jumps, turns, stretches and fun choreography to your favourite music. Please bring running shoes and a water bottle, and wear comfortable stretchy clothing. Parents and friends, don’t miss the performance on the last day of class!
Instructor: Catherine Andersen has been teaching dance at numerous studios and recreation centres for over 14 years and holds a BFA in Contemporary Dance from SFU. With diverse training in ballet, modern/contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, Pilates technique, and yoga, she is a highly sought-after instructor. She won numerous awards and scholarships at local dance festivals before pursuing her professional dance career. Catherine is praised for her positive and inclusive approach to teaching ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and modern dance, and has received numerous academic and competitive dance awards and scholarships.
