Seniors Collaborative Creative Workshops

You have important stories to tell and only you can tell them. In this series of workshops, Ingrid will lead you through the creative writing process step by step from start to finish. Work together with Ingrid and other seniors for a 10 week intensive to explore ideas and create. Ingid has taught memoir writing for years to all kinds of people of all ages, and she believes in making the process fun and accessible. You don’t need any previous experience with creative writing, just a willingness to let go and dive in. Experienced writers will also find plenty of room to expand. Ingrid Rose has a creative writing certificate from The Writers Studio at SFU and a degree in English and American literature from Sussex University, England. She has taught adults and high school students for over 30 years in UK, Europe and the USA. She currently teaches in the Continuing Studies Seniors’ program at SFU.

Instructor: Ingrid Rose is a lead artist in the Arts and Health Project and Healthy Aging Through The Arts. She has a creative writing certificate from The Writer’s Studio at SFU and a degree in English and American literature from Sussex University. She has taught creative writing, reading and languaging through the body for over 30 years in Belgium, Canada, France, the U.S. and the U.K. She also teaches in the Continuing Studies program at Emily Carr University. The autobiographical manuscript she worked on in The Writer’s Studio throughout 2001 has found new form as a soliloquy: in the shape of my father.
