DESCRIPTION:Pride Month Film Screening: The Fruit Machine \nThe Fruit Machine exposes a dark chapter in Canadian history. From the 1950s until 1996\, the Canadian government systematically hunted and interrogated 2SLGBTQI+ people in the RCMP\, military\, and civil service. An estimated 9\,000 people were discriminated against\, harassed\, and often fired – in what is known as the LGBT Purge. \nJoin us for a screening followed by Q&A with survivors from the LGBT Purge Fund board: military survivors Martine Roy and Diane Pitre (who appear in the film)\, and RCMP survivor retired S/Sgt Wayne Davis. Members from Out on Patrol will be in attendance and light refreshments will be served. \nThe Fruit Machine Film Screening — Sunday\, June 7 \n12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.  \nFREE \nViewer discretion advised: This film contains sensitive discussions and personal recollections of sexual abuse which may be triggering for some viewers.
