DESCRIPTION:Psst… What are you doing Wednesday evenings this summer? Join us for FREE live local music and kids’ activities. \nBring family and friends to our Summer Concert Series at the outdoor performance area on the east side of the building.  Along with fantastic live music\, there will also be an Arts & Craft Station and kids activities led by Red Fox! Bring a picnic to enjoy the evening sun while listening to the fantastic lineup of live music we have planned for you. \n(Note: rained out concerts will be held in the Grandview Room.) \nWednesdays\, July 9 to August 20\, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. \nFREE/ 7 sessions \nPerforming August 13\, 2025 – The Side Project\nThe Side Project believes in the power of storytelling through music\, weaving together stories and melodies that resonate with the heart\, provoke thought and sometimes tickle the funny bone. Imagine stumbling into a room with The Eagles\, James Taylor\, Fleetwood Mac\, Leonard Cohen and Eric Clapton all jamming together\, creating soulful melodies and up-tempo grooves (with beautiful harmonies scattered liberally throughout)\, and you’ll get a feel for what The Side Project is all about. \n\nCome to the next show!:\nCheco Tohomaso and VOC Sweet Soul Gospel Choir – performing on August 20\, 2025 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.\nFirst half of this performance showcases Checo Tohomason keeping sweet soul alive\, taking inspiration from Sam Cooke\, Otis Redding\, and Marvin Gaye. For the second half Checo is joined by the VOC Sweet Soul Gospel Choir to deliver some dancing\, toe tapping\, energetic music! \nJoin us for the Lantern Procession:\nThe Carnival Band – performing on August 27\, 2025 from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. for the Lantern procession.\nMany of The Carnival Band’s favourite tunes are originals by band members. The remainder of their monstrous repertoire includes samba\, calypso\, swing\, afrobeat\, jazz\, funk\, disco\, and traditional music from around the globe. These lads joke around between songs and always make sure the audience is having a great time!

The remainder of their monstrous repertoire includes samba\, calypso\, swing\, afrobeat\, jazz\, funk\, disco\, and traditional music from around the globe. \nThe band believes that community music is grounded in collaboration\, with the aim of empowering the individuals involved. Songs and performances are a means to creative expression and community cohesiveness\, rather than an end in themselves. \nIf you have a desire to learn and perform\, they can help make your dream come true. Some instruments are available for loan\, and some of the band members teach music professionally.
