DESCRIPTION:Performing August 20\, 2025 – Our FINAL summer concert: Checo Tohomaso and VOC Sweet Soul Gospel Choir\nPerforming from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.\, Checo Tohomaso and the VOC Gospel Choir are keeping sweet soul alive\, taking inspiration from Sam Cooke\, Otis Redding\, and Marvin Gaye to deliver some dancing\, toe tapping\, energetic music! \nJoin us for the grand finale next week! \nPerforming August 27\, 2025 for the Lantern Procession — The Carnival Band\nPerforming from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.\, many of the Carnival Band’s favourite tunes are originals by band members. The remainder of their monstrous repertoire includes samba\, calypso\, swing\, afrobeat\, jazz\, funk\, disco\, and traditional music from around the globe. \nThe band believes that community music is grounded in collaboration\, with the aim of empowering the individuals involved. Songs and performances are a means to creative expression and community cohesiveness\, rather than an end in themselves. \nIf you have a desire to learn and perform\, they can help make your dream come true. Some instruments are available for loan\, and some of the band members teach music professionally. They do this because they love it\, and because it makes the neighbourhood smile! \nFREE to participate
