Adaptive Programs
Youth In Action is an exciting and effective adaptive program for teens with mild to moderate needs (behavioural and developmental).
Youth participants join our specialized staff team after school one, two or three times a week for fun, challenging activities in a safe recreational environment.
YIA teens learn an array of important skills, gain valuable in-community experience, and form long-lasting friendships. In addition, YIA participants and staff are a core part of daily life at the centre!
After school program
The YIA after school program operates from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekdays.
Holiday programs
We also have full-day holiday programs that operate from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Holidays include Spring, Summer, and Winter Breaks, as well as Vancouver School Board Professional Development days.
Applying for the YIA program
Youth must first be registered with the Ministry of Children and Family Development’s Children and Youth with Support Needs (CYSN) division before registering for YIA.
For more information, please contact YIA supervisor Karine Ling at 604.257.6970 or [email protected] or visit the program website.
